INITIAL SAMPLE INSPECTION REPORT
What is initial sampling in the PPAP?
The initial sample inspection report (ISIR) is responsible for a smooth flow in the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process). It ensures consecutive quality and provides certainty about necessary rework of assemblies and components. An initial sample inspection can be requested by manufacturers, suppliers and customers alike. Often the initial sample inspection report is a check as well as a proof of the quality requirements and is decisive for the delivery release of components.
When can initial sampling be required?
Among others, initial sampling is mandatory for the following cases:
- Material changes and adapted manufacturing processes (in particular modified bonding, soldering and welding) and methods
- Use of new production tools and resources
- Pre-production and new parts
- New supplier or sub-supplier
- Interruption of the production of a component for a longer period of time
- Relocation of the production site
Microvista ensures a smooth and efficient release according to VDA standards using standardized industrial computed tomography procedures.
Microvista offers industrial CT procedures tailored to the PPAP:
Industrial laboratory testing of components and assemblies
Ideal for spontaneous CT testing by our experts in the lab. Can also be customized for larger components and series.
Evaluation in the Cloud
You already have a industrial CT and want to get the data evaluated? Use our evaluation service and get your results quickly and cost-effective.
Renting a mobile CT without investment costs
Rent your inspection system only for as long as you need it! With Microvista’s unique mobile CT solution, you save yourself long waiting times in your PPAP.
Why is an industrial CT required for a clearance in the initial sample inspection report?
- Non-destructive testing of material groups and compounds
- Testing of the entire component for defects
- Testing of soldering, bonding and welding (e.g. stator testing)
- Testing of high-value materials or unique production processes
- Measurement of complex geometries
- False color image creation
- Special requirements according to VDA
