What is initial sampling in the PPAP?

The initial sample inspection report (ISIR) is responsible for a smooth flow in the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process). It ensures consecutive quality and provides certainty about necessary rework of assemblies and components. An initial sample inspection can be requested by manufacturers, suppliers and customers alike. Often the initial sample inspection report is a check as well as a proof of the quality requirements and is decisive for the delivery release of components.
