We use two different CT systems:
1) Laboratory CT: 450/ 225kV BIR/ Varian with line and area detector
2) Fast CT/ AT-Line: Siemens Somatom AS+
We use the CT laboratory for initial sampling of components, for assembly control, for CAD target/actual comparison, for examination of the general porosity and for pore analysis according to OEM standard.
Our fast CT/AT-Line is used for series or series-accompanying tests, for assembly checks and for porosity tests.
The following diagram illustrates the main functions of a CT:
Depending on the technical implementation, the test object rotates or a system consisting of X‑ray source and detector. The test object is illuminated from many directions. The resulting X‑ray images are called projections. Using a lot of mathematics, a digital image of the test object can then be created from these projections, which also contains a good approximation of its inner structure.
The following units of measurement apply to components that you would like to have scanned by us:
Height | 2000 mm |
Diameter | 600 mm |
Weight | 100 kg |
Cumulated wall thicknesses can be radiographed (depending on the component geometry):
Steel | 80 mm |
Iron | 100 mm |
Aluminium | 400 mm |
Plastics | 750 mm |
Depending on the component size and material, tests can be performed with a spatial resolution between 0.02 and 1 mm.
